I’m Catalin Lazar, a family photographer based in Sector 1, and my passion is turning everyday relationships into images that tell a story. I position myself as a specialist in family photography: family sessions, newborn photos, baby photos, child photography and baptism photography. I work with families across Bucharest and the surrounding areas, bringing a calm, friendly approach focused on authenticity. My approach is documentary and centered on natural moments — I prefer to capture real emotions, spontaneous interactions and the small details that define family bonds. During a session I create a relaxed atmosphere, without pressure for “forced smiles.” I like to work in locations that are familiar to you — at home, in the park or at a carefully chosen spot — so children and babies feel safe and free to be themselves. Working with newborns and babies requires patience and attention to detail: I respect the little ones’ schedules, use natural light whenever possible and prioritise the family’s comfort. For baptisms I combine attention to the ceremony with a documentary eye, so the images reflect both the solemn moments and the small gestures full of tenderness. My process is clear and relationship-oriented: we meet or talk by phone/online to understand your expectations, decide on the location and the desired atmosphere, and on the day of the session I handle coordination with gentleness and professionalism. After the session I deliver carefully edited photographs that preserve the natural tone and emotion of the moment. Besides family photography, I occasionally offer portrait sessions and video support for family events, though the core of my activity remains family photography.
